Privacy Policy

1. Effective Date

This Privacy Policy for Homekind Ltd. and its associated brands (CleaningPros,  CleanNextWeek, Homekind House Cleaning & Homekind Home Care) has been updated as of December 15, 2022.

2. Introduction

This policy relates to the customer personal information collected by Homekind Ltd. and its associated brands. Throughout this policy, we collectively refer to our company and its associated brands as “Homekind”, “we”, “us” or “our”.

Homekind Ltd. fully owns and operates the following service brands:

  • CleaningPros - cleaningpros.ca 
  • CleanNextWeek - cleannextweek.ca
  • Homekind House Cleaning - In private beta.
  • Homekind Home Care - In private beta.
  • Additional service brands are planned but have not yet been released. When released they will be added to the above list.

All of our brands use the same centralized ‘Homekind system’. When you interact with any of our brands you are interacting with Homekind Ltd.. Certain data collected when you interact with one of our brands will be available when you interact with any of our other brands. 

This policy applies to Homekind Ltd. and all of our service brands listed above, as well as each service brand’s website and/or mobile application (all of which are a part of Homekind Ltd.). 

3. How We Collect Personal Information

We limit the collection of personal information to what is reasonably required to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected. We collect personal information in the following ways:

  • Directly From You: You may provide personal information to us over the telephone, via text message, mail, email, third party messaging platforms, or directly in person to a member of our team.
  • Via Our Websites: You may provide personal information on our websites. This includes ‘Service Request’ and ‘Quote’ forms where you can submit initial information to start the process of receiving a Quote and/or information about our services. We also collect certain types of information electronically when you interact with our websites which include cookies & web beacons. We use Google Analytics, which uses tracking technologies to analyze your use of our websites. Information from Google Analytics is not provided to us in a personally-identifiable format.
  • Via Our Applications (Apps): You will be required to provide personal information for the normal use of our apps.  We also collect certain types of information electronically when you interact with our apps which includes activity & request logs. We also use the analytics provided by the app platform you use (Apple’s App Store and/or Google’s Google Play). 

4. Consent

By using our services and products and/or submitting information to us in connection with using our services and products, you are providing your consent to the collection, use and disclosure of personal information as set out in this policy. In some cases, your consent may be “implied” meaning your permission is assumed based on your action or inaction at the point of collection, use or sharing of your personal information.

Your consent can be withdrawn at any time, except in limited circumstances, including legal requirements. Withdrawing consent may prevent us from providing our services and products to you.

5. Children’s Privacy Protection

Our websites and apps do not target people under the age of 18 and we do not provide products or services for use by people under the age of 18. If you are under 18 years of age, you may use our sites & apps only under the supervision of a guardian or parent, and you may not use our apps or sites in a way that would require the collection of your personal information. We do not knowingly collect information from persons under 18 years of age. 

6. How We Use Personal Information

We collect, use, disclose and retain personal information only for the purposes for which it was obtained or for purposes authorized or required by law. We will not collect, use, disclose or retain personal information for any other purposes unless your consent to do so is obtained. 

We may collect personal information from you for the following purposes: 

  • To provide you a quote for our service(s) if you have requested one
  • To provide you with the service(s) you have requested
  • To provide notifications and reminders related to a service you have booked
  • To send out notifications after a service appointment has been completed asking for feedback
  • To conduct customer satisfaction surveys
  • To respond to your queries
  • To provide customer service and support related to services you have booked
  • To help troubleshoot an issue with our apps or underlying infrastructure
  • To provide anonymous reporting for internal and external purposes
  • To investigate team member complaints of abuse or inappropriate behavior 
  • To contact you for marketing and promotional purposes

7. How We Share Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information to any organization or person; the only exception to this would be if we sell or transfer any part of our business.

When you interact with any of our associated brands you are interacting with Homekind Ltd. All of our associated brands are fully owned by Homekind Ltd. and use the same underlying ‘Homekind system’. This means that when you share personal information with one of our associated brands that same information is available to our other associated brands. A list of our associated brands can be found in section 2 of this policy.

Certain personal information is shared with our employees and contractors for the purposes described in section 6 of this policy.

We also may share your personal information with the following entities:

  • Service providers with whom we may subcontract, including website hosting companies, payment processing companies, inbound call center companies, service providers that help us operate our technology systems & applications, and other third-party service providers. We require these service providers to limit their access to and/or use of personal information to what is required to provide their services and to comply with our privacy requirements.
  • Debt collection companies, only after our internal receivables team has made multiple attempts over a prolonged period of time.  
  • Government agencies and law enforcement officials, when required to do so to respond to subpoenas, court orders or legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims.

Other than the purposes listed above, we may, with your implied or express consent, share or disclose your personal information outside of Homekind Ltd., in accordance with applicable law.

Example: if we were to damage a vase in your home we would ask if we could ship you a replacement through a third party retailer. In this case we would have to provide the retailer with some of your personal information to facilitate the shipping of a replacement.


8. Personal Information We Collect

“Personal information” is any information that identifies you or could be reasonably associated with you. The personal information that we collect includes the following categories:

  • Identifiers such as your name, phone number, email address and address
  • Billing information such as payment card information and billing address
  • Service location information related to the delivery of our services
  • Complaints, concerns and preferences related to enhancing & customizing the delivery of our services for you
  • Optional information that you have chosen to share with us in relation to customized requests and/or unique considerations that we may try to consider or follow when providing you services
  • Your feedback and comments related to the delivery of our services
  • Internet activity such as your interactions with our service websites
  • App activity related to your interaction with our service apps

We collect, use, disclose and retain the above categories of personal information for the purposes described in section 6 of this policy.


9. Security

We are committed to keeping your personal information safe and accurate. Personal information will be protected by security safeguards that are appropriate to the sensitivity level of the information. We have implemented technical, physical & operational safeguards in an effort to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, and disclosure. Despite our efforts we cannot guarantee that our measures and safeguards will be sufficient, will not be breached, and that your information may not be disclosed or otherwise accessed in any unauthorized manner. We advise you to consider this before using our service and/or when providing us with information that you wish to keep private.


11. Accessing Your Personal Information

It is your responsibility to provide correct & accurate information. If you notice any errors in your personal information or need to update it, please let us know. You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, subject to any legal restrictions. We will require you to verify your identity to ensure that the request is authorized. We may request that you specify the type of information you would like to access. If we are unable to complete your request within 20 business days, notice of time extension will be provided within 20 business days of the initial request.

12. Modification & Updates To This Privacy Policy

We may occasionally update this policy. Any changes we make will become effective when we post a modified version of the policy on this webpage. Use of our services after an update constitutes consent to the updated notice to the extent permitted by law.
